In 1993 K.S.T. Perera directed his far reaching vision to identify that “Maize” to be the main ingredient of Animal Feed Production. As a further step of related diversification and backward integration he envisioned to cultivate maize locally. He was able to gain a wealth of experience regarding mass production of Maize through the research conducted by himself in mechanized farms in the state of Iowa, USA.

Thereafter, K.S.T. Evergreen pioneered the maize cultivation in the dry zone through engaging in forward sale contracts with the farmers achieving the main objective of making Sri Lanka self sufficient in Maize.

Farmers cultivating 40,000 Acres in the Anuradhapura District in the North Central Province and 45,000 Acres in the Monaragala District in the Uva Province benefiting over 22,000 farmer families, KST Evergreen (Pvt) Ltd purchase a total of 140,000 Mt annually which is 40% of total corn requirement of Sri Lanka.

Today we have diversified successfully for modern green city development, commercial property, luxury apartments and leisure.
